If there’s one thing all entrepreneurs and coaches can agree upon, it’s that punctuality plays a huge part in carving a path to success.

Now new research is refuting this belief by saying that the unpunctual folks are more likely to succeed in life thanks to some very interesting traits that are peculiar to them.

Psychologists agree that there are two distinct personality types in this world: type A and type B. People with type A personality are more competitive, time-sensitive whereas those who are type B are more easy-going and relaxed, hence have a tendency to be late.

Being late could actually be a good thing

So, if you’ve been under fire for always being late to work, there’s now a very good excuse for doing so, one that might even impress your boss!

Here are some useful traits in people who’re always late that gives them an edge over the rest.

Creativity

Because people with type B personality aren’t that concerned with following the rules, they’re more open to taking risks and expressing themselves freely.

This allows them to be more creative and go beyond the boundaries, a trait that is often found in successful entrepreneurs.

During work, they can lose all sense of time, but despite this, they can perform at high levels and get really great results.

Optimism

People who aren’t usually on time are inherently optimistic, which is usually why they think they can get away with their lack of punctuality.

This optimism gives them the courage to take decisions despite having the odds against them. Optimists believe that there is always a solution to every problem, and they try to find options that keep them moving forward.

Multitasking

There are two types of people who are always late: ones who are too lazy to get anywhere on time, and others who are busy multitasking and often pick up more than they can handle at once.

The latter are often more likely to be successful because multitasking allows them to accumulate more skills over time.

Perfectionism

We know we just said that people with type B personality are a lot more relaxed and easy-going, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t pay attention to detail when it comes to their work.

This attention to detail often means running late for office because you spent too much time making sure that you look presentable or had all your important documents with you.
