Traveling to the moon is the ultimate dream for some people, but, of course, it would be sad not to have somebody witness how this ball is so magnificent, right? Well, that was what Yusaku Maezawa thought of, the Japanese billionaire who may become the first voyager of the SpaceX program.
The man is none other than a giant fashion personality who founded Zozotown, one of Japan’s biggest clothing retailer. Two years ago, Yusaku became a headliner because he was reported to be the first one to fly to the moon through Elon Musk’s SpaceX rocket.
Yusaku has oftentimes raised eyebrows in his home country particularly because of his ways that go against the conservative culture in the workplace. Nonetheless, he is worth $3.6 billion, largely because of the online fashion marketplace Zozotown that is now 16 years old.
Just in September, Yusaku sold his 30-percent stake in Zozo to SoftBank for a whopping $2.3 billion. Two months later he filmed himself going to a bank to give a peek of his bank book after the very lucrative deal.
So as you can see, Yusaku has been enjoying himself quite too much, evident on his musings. However, now that he has a lot of free time, it seems that he is far from taking a rest from the busy scene as he now seeks someone to accompany him when he finally flies to the moon.
And no, he is not merely looking for a friend. According to his website, loneliness is creeping up on him now and so Yusaku is seeking a woman whom he will love.
The 44-year-old continued that he wanted to show to the world his and the woman’s love for each other from the outer space, which hints that the lady will join him in 2023 to his flight. This search will be filmed and the documentary will be titled Full Moon Lovers.
However, not anyone wishing to snatch his heart can apply. Yusaku specifically wants women above 20 years old, someone who has a positive personality, and has an interest in traveling to space.
Applications should be submitted on or before Jan. 17 and his decision will be announced by March.
